It seeks to facilitate and demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge to restore people’s confidence in their ability to produce off-land while still working creatively in harmony with nature. FPC’s development intervention is characterised by skills training, demonstrations of various participatory methodologies while looking out for value chain possibilities, particularly by creating marketing opportunities for organic produce. Its major activities include training of smallholder farmers, youth groups and various development workers, demonstrating sustainable methods of farming for organic enthusiasts including creating ties with communities, sister organizations as well as other agencies that work in the same communities as the centre. FPC is inviting for suitably qualified and experienced persons to submit applications for the above mentioned position that is based at its Head Office in Harare. Essential Duties (In Brief) Teaching assigned diploma and degree in agroecology modules on offer; Development of learning material for all agroecology courses and programs and ensuring updated notes and course outlines are maintained; Manage the learning program for diploma programs including scheduling of blocks, development and monitoring the implementation of the learning time table and other related activities; Assisting learners with research on agroecology and publication of such research work in journals and research articles; Maintain records for all learners on the diploma program and management of student profiles in the Integrated University Management Systems; Maintain records for all learners on the diploma program and management of student profiles in the Integrated University Management Systems; Development of fundraising proposals for supporting the diploma in agroecology program. Education and Qualifications Bachelors degree in Agriculture or related discipline, is a pre-requisite; Masters in Agriculture related filled is an added advantage (proof of enrolment for a Masters or Postgraduate course is considered.); Post graduate qualification in permaculture and agroecology is an added advantage. Prior work experience At least 2 years proven post-graduate experience in the agriculture teaching and research experience; At least a 2 years’ experience working on community development and extension work; Considerable experience in agroecology related fields and disciplines. Knowledge skills and abilities Good teaching and lecture administration skills; Curriculum development skills; Strong research, documentation and publication skills; Networking and liaison skills.
