Our client is looking for a farm manager to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for livestock production, specifically cattle, but goats, poultry and sheep are a plus. Experience of 7-20 years as a Farm Manager or Estate Manager, with Horticulture as a primary focus excellent leadership and commercial agricultural skills. Ability and relevant training in preparing financial budgets and all reports for all farm-wide activities. Works well under minimum supervision. Strong agronomic training and experience (10+ years required): horticultural crops. Ability to command and monitor a security force; knowledge of firearms and guard dogs is preferred. Strong experience and knowledge of farm equipment and irrigation systems including: boreholes, tractors and workshop knowledge required. Logistics experience: maintain fleet of vehicles. Global Good Agricultural Procedures (GLOBAL G.A.P.) experience required, along with experience to pass Global GAP auditing. Strong Labour Management Skills and Staff training. Human resources experience: staff recruitment, preparing employees' contracts, time register/wages, maintaining a disciplinary committee and handling all staff complaints/disputes. Experience in marketing of farm produce to local and international markets.
