ActionAid is an international anti-poverty agency working in over 40 countries, taking sides with poor people to end poverty and injustice together.

ActionAid Zimbabwe wishes to advertise the following opportunity following an organizational re-design process in line with the organisation’s 2018 – 2023 Strategy “Citizens’ Collective Actions for Social Justice”.

The Postholder will ensure that all Local Rights Programs (LRPs) are effectively managed and serviced. The position ensures that Partners have direct and immediate technical support to effectively and efficiently implement and to achieve programme and project goals and objectives. The position also functions collaboratively with Fundraising and shall be required to lead the team responsible for developing and implementing ActionAid Zimbabwe’s Sponsorship strategy, including relationships with child sponsors, ensuring collation & timely remission of reports and increase of the sponsorship base and, to build and maintain sponsorship relationship between AAZ and the Funding Affiliates.

Work/Educational Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Sciences gained from a recognised University (i.e. in either Gender/Women and Development Studies, or Sociology, or Development Studies, or Political Science, or Public Administration, or International Relations, or Public Policy, Law, Education, Rural Development, or relevant disciplines; A relevant Postgraduate degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage; At least three years’ experience in rural development management including networking with and/or supervising other development partners including local NGOs, local government agencies and community- based organisations; At least three years’ experience in supporting Child Sponsorship ensuring high quality implementation of all sponsorship communication and activities.

Key Competencies
Demonstrated commitment to SHEA (Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse) and Safeguarding issues, women’s rights issues, youth programming, at local, national and international level, commitment to government policies, food security, nutrition, livelihoods issues and understanding of political and socio-economic factors that impact on women’s and young people’s rights; Ability to recognise and develop new fundraising opportunities; Ability to write concise, accurate and analytical reports to agreed deadlines and monitor budgets.
