The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP), a leading local non-governmental organisation, presents an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and motivated candidates to fill the following vacancies under a USAID funded Amalima Project which is part of a CNFA-led consortium. The project seeks to sustainably improve household food security and nutrition, using the following three Strategic Objectives: SO 1: Household access to, and availability of, food improved; SO 2: Community resilience to shocks improved; SO 3: Nutrition and health among pregnant and lactating females, boys and girls under 2 years old improved.

Purpose of the Job
The incumbent is expected to contribute in improving the effectiveness of M&E department by providing technical support in managing operations of the M&E system to support programme management and accountability functions of the Amalima Project at district level.

Duties include
Developing monthly/weekly district M&E work plans in liaison with the M&E Manager; Capacitating district programming team members to become highly technical in monitoring and evaluating their activities in the field; Compiling and consolidating Amalima program performance reports at district level reports as per M&E plan’s reporting schedule and in accordance with approved reporting formats; Maintaining and updating the district tracker for programme indicators and monitoring activities; Executing time bound data collection exercises using Amalima approved M&E tools; Liaising with external consultants and individuals sub-contracted to implement special surveys or studies required for evaluating project effects and impacts; Assisting the M&E Manager in the continual review of the M & E system manual as per requirements for the specific interventions; Managing the systematic filing of all soft and hard copy district M&E information.

Work/Educational Requirements

Qualifications and experience
A Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies or equivalent; At least 2 years hands on experience in the implementation of M&E systems; including qualitative and quantitative approaches to assessment and monitoring; Experience in participatory assessment, monitoring and evaluation, training and facilitation, data collection, processing or analysis; Knowledge of computer based statistical packages including SPSS, CsPro, Epinfo and Excel; Good reporting skills; Must have appreciation of ORAP values and be prepared to work with ORAP grassroots structures.
