An Election Consortium working on an election project that encompasses on strengthening civil society capacity to assess and observe the pre-election, election and post-election environment, ensuring that citizens have access to information to effectively participate in and oversee democratic processes and fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships to monitor policy and operational reforms of Zimbabwe's electoral and political processes seeks to hire a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
To facilitate regular data collection through implementing partners and ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validations; To record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way; To analyse and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data; Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant Project Managers and Partners; Ensure that implementation of field activities adheres to the organisation’s monitoring and evaluation system; Support partners in reporting and collecting feedback from communities; Participate actively in planning quarterly review meetings, providing feedback and report writing; Support the programme implementation team in dealing with any other tasks as may be required

Work/Educational Requirements

Person Specification
Masters’ degree in any social science discipline related to Governance and Elections; A post-graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation

Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation within a non-governmental organisation; Experience of field data collection, partner capacity building and report writing; Experience of organising lesson-learning sessions and programme reviews

Other Attributes
Time management and ability to prioritise multiple tasks; Self-motivated person able to work without close supervision; Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment; Travelling to far remote areas independently for M&E; Willing to work additional hours at crucial times
