Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for vehicle minor and middle service as well as vehicle repairs in accordance with the CARE fleet policy

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Inspects vehicles prior to going for major service and completion of the vehicle inspection report form
•    Makes vehicle diagnoses and liaises with vendors
•    Conducts minor and middle service as well as minor repairs on vehicles such as changing filters, wipers, other ad hoc minor repairs
•    Takes the vehicle for major service to the vendors with a purchase order
•    Collects the vehicles from garages and conducts quality control checks
•    Responsible for vendor invoice tracking 
•    Recovers broken down CARE vehicles and where necessary engages the recovery agencies 
•    Conducts quarterly mechanical vehicle inspections for all CARE vehicles Tests prospective CARE drivers and making recommendations for driver certification as per the Fleet Policy
•    Maintains workshop equipment and inventory doing a monthly inventory report to the admin manager
•    Formulates vehicle accessories requests to procurement
•    Endorses the hand over take- over of vehicles when a CARE staff is leaving the organization

Work/Educational Requirements

•    Class 4 Mechanic Certificate
•    Class 2 Driver’s Licence 
•    Defensive driving certificate
•    3 years experience servicing and repairing vehicles
