Key Responsibilities • Ensures statutory compliance of all temporary and permanent civil works. • Reviews and prepares written recommendations for all civil and structural engineering designs and drawings submitted by the Contractor. • Ensures that all Civil Engineering SHEQ risks and aspects are managed and we have zero accidents in the civil construction section • Formulates programmes for preparatory civil works • Designs and costs temporary and permanent structures required for the implementation of project • Participates in project budget planning and development and comes up with proposals • Monitors project progress and identifies potential problem areas • Participates in reviews and updates of designs and drawings, tracks all the updates and produces reports • Prepares plant and equipment for testing and commissioning • Monitors critical parameters during and after test runs and commissioning of equipment • Evaluates the project from preparatory works to completion and produces detailed reports • Participates in Vendor Quality Surveillances, Factory and Site acceptance tests. • Prepares procedures on quality and ensures that they are adhered to • Leads Civil Technicians in quality control and assurance of works 

Work/Educational Requirements

Essential Competencies and Requirements • A Degree in Civil Engineering and Water Engineering • At least? years' experience in power generation or heavy industry • Certification in project management is an added advantage • Corporate membership of a recognised institution • Technical and analytical skills • Interpersonal skills • Good communication skills
