Reporting to the Accounting Officer (CEO), the job holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient and effective procurement management system and ensuring that every procurement is in line with the legal requirements and ZIMDEF policies and procedures. 
Duties and Responsibilities: • Championing the formulation and implementation of the Fund's procurement strategies. • Preparation ofthe Fund's procurement plan. • Preparing bidding documents in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act and the Fund's policies and procedures. • Managing the entire procurement cycle of the Fund to include bidding meetings, bidding evaluations, etc. • Supervision of the evaluation committee and opening of bids. • Preparing contract documents and amendments. • Managing procurement contracts or overseeing their management. • Producing relevant procurement reports quarterly, bi-annually, annually, etc. • Appraising the Accounting Officer (CEO) and rest of Fund's staffon procurement regulations. • Developing effective relationships with suppliers and internal sections. • Ensuring procurement records such as pricing and other important data are maintained in accordance with the regulations. • Liaise with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe on all procurement matters.

Work/Educational Requirements

Qualifications, Competencies and Work Experience: 
• Honours Degree in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent and a relevant Master's Degree will be an added advantage. • A professional Qualification in Procurement preferable CIPS or any related qualification. • At least five years' experience at managerial level with strong bias towards Public Sector Procurement. • A member of a professional body, e g CIPS. • Good knowledge of SAP and a clean class 4 drivers' license a must • Practical knowledge in Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act [Chapter 22:23]
