UNIVERSITY OF ZIMBABWE Applications from suitably qualified members are invited to fill the following posts: PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT UNIT PROCUREMENT MANAGER Duties and Responsibilities The Procurement Manager would be reporting to the Accounting Officer and responsible for: - Developing the University’s Procurement Plan; - Overseeing the Procurement Process; - Determining the Procurement Method to be used upon Receipt of Requests; - Preparing Bidding Documents and Evaluation Criteria; - Managing the Bidding Process; - Managing the Evaluation of Bids and any Post-qualification Negotiations required; - Advising the University Evaluation Committee on Tender Issues; - Preparing Contract Documents and Overseeing Management of Procurement contracts; - Preparing Evaluation and Procurement Reports; - Servicing the University Evaluation Committee; - Supervising Staff in the Procurement Unit; - Managing the Daily Operations of the Procurement Unit; - Any other Duties as may be assigned by the Accounting Officer.
Desired Qualifications and Essentials The applicant must be a holder of at least a Master of Science Degree in Accounting; Supply Chain Management or equivalent; a Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply, both from a reputable institution and a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Graduate Diploma. -A PhD would be an added advantage. - He/she must also have at least 10 years’ working experience as a Procurement Manager, Buyer or Purchasing Agent.
