Deadline: 23 August 2019 Starting date: August/September 2019 Employment Type: Part-Time Organizational Background Lower Centenary Producers Trust is a registered Zimbabwean Development Trust which was established in 2016 to empower communities through the Food Security and Market Linkages Programme in the rural areas of Muzarabani. Currently, LCPT is implementing sorghum production project in 4 wards of Muzarabani District and is targeting 1 000 sorghum farmers. The programme is being facilitated by Help from Germany, supported and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). LCPT is seeking to recruit someone to carry out the procurement and purchasing activities for the running programme. The major responsibilities Read, understand and apply the organizational and donor procurement procedures; Provide procurement support in accordance with the organizational procurement procedures; Place purchase orders; selecting and negotiating with approved suppliers and evaluating their reliability; Procure materials from suppliers at the lowest cost, with consideration to quality, reliability and urgency of need; Maintaining proper procurement records and files as needed; Perform basic analytical tasks and industry research; Perform any other duties as assigned by the In House Manager
Professional Knowledge and Experience A university degree or Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or any other related studies from a reputable institution. Knowledge and understanding of the development sector (mainly agriculture and agribusiness) will be an added advantage. At least 2 yearsâ€™ experience in the procurement field is a requirement. Excellent computer skills with command on Microsoft excel and PowerPoint among other packages.
