Job Description The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support training of Farmer groups on Good Agriculture commodity marketing practice. Key duties and Responsibilities • Conducts community mobilization and sensitization for the formation of producer groups. • Identifies and capacitates existing Horticulture and crop value chain producer groups in Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) • Facilitates and train Agriculture commodity groups in Agribusiness management • Work with commercial Agribusiness sector to promote high value crops and development of ward based agro dealers. • Train extension staff on Private sector engagement and value chain selection (Gross Margin and cropping calendar) • Maintain coordination and linkage with various stakeholders at community and district level • Facilitating trainings on Agribusiness marketing focusing on high value crops. • Assists in identification of opportunities to link farmers with lucrative markets( Input and output suppliers) • Monitors and documents performance of farmer groups on crop quality management and adherence to market expectations. • Submit field visit reports, monthly, quarterly project review reports, and technical progress reports to Supervisor. • Participates in the Market innovative platforms and agronomic market fairs. • Coordinate with other project consortium partners on Agric commodity marketing issues.
Qualifications • Diploma/ Degree in Agribusiness management, Agronomy, Horticulture and crop science or related field with three years of experience in similar capacity • 4-5 years of proven experience, skills and knowledge and preferred experience, Agronomy, Agribusiness marketing and Horticulture in development work or related Additional Information • Valid class 3 motorbike riding license is an added advantage • Excellent communication and report writing skills. • Good interpersonal skills.
