HOCIC is a Non-governmental Organization focusing on children and youths living in difficult circumstances and other vulnerable groups in the society who include women, people with disabilities and people living with HIV. The organization was established in 1995 and has 5 thematic areas among them is the Food security and livelihoods Programme. HOCIC is rolling out the Food distribution programmme in Bulawayo in partnership with Latter Day Saints Charities. The programs objectives are to improve food availability for food insecure households during the peak hunger period, reaching out to beneficiaries with Maize meal, Vegetable Oil and Beans. Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following Responsible for effective community mobilization and sensitization for the programme activities in the assigned wards; Conduct field visits prior to any planed distribution; Conduct distribution of community food baskets; Conducting targeting and registration of beneficiaries; Compile and submit reports as per expected deadlines; Work with relevant stakeholders and manage relations with the local leadership and other ward district level stakeholders; Plan for monitoring visits monthly; Work well with other staff members so as to achieve the programs target; Delivering the project on SCOPE, on time after registering the beneficiaries; Facilitating, monitoring and reporting LDS complementary livelihoods activities; Ensuring other programme deliverables are adequately complied with; Assist the Program Coordinator and the district team to plan, implement, Monitor and evaluate program activities as per the design; Ensure that commodities are properly distributed, tracked, accounted for and reported on according to donor expectations; Visit target communities on regular basis to appreciate their desires and expectations to ensure relevant future planning and development interventions; Facilitate the identification, design and implementation of appropriate training needs for project staff and communities; Production of regular and timely progress reports Knowledge and skills Excellent computer skills with experience in software packages such as SPSS, Ms Word, Power Point, Database & Ms Excel; Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical skills and reporting skills; Experience in working with a local NGO in project implementation of cash/food assistance.
Qualifications Degree in Social Sciences or any relevant degree; Clean Class 4 Drivers Licence Experience Minimum 3 years of proven experience in NGO environment working with cash/food assistance programme beneficiaries.
