Description

Position Summary: 
CNFA is currently seeking a Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Lead to support its Development Food Security Activity in Zimbabwe. The position will be based in Zimbabwe.  The SBC Lead will oversee the design, planning and implementation of the SBC activities. S/he will be responsible for supporting SBC interventions across the activity by playing a lead role in guiding formative research; developing a SBC strategy and implementation plan; supporting the development of tools; and monitoring the progress of activities to ensure a consistent and coherent execution of interventions.    
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to design, plan, and implement SBC activities across the activity; 
Lead formative research and the development of a SBC strategy and implementation plan; 
Lead the development of SBC tools; 
Oversee the monitoring of activity progress related to SBC to ensure a consistency and coherency across interventions; 
Monitor the progress of activities to ensure a consistent and coherent execution of interventions;  
Develop a SBC strategy and implementation plan;  
Work with external stakeholders including host country government, international donors, multilateral organizations, and the private sector. 

Work/Educational Requirements

Key Qualification:
Minimum of six (6) years of progressively increasing technical responsibility leading to a senior level of expertise in SBC is required; 
Experience designing and implementing SBC interventions required; 
Experience conducting SBC programming in Southern Africa is strongly preferred; 
An advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in a social science discipline; 
Demonstrated understanding of a range of SBC approaches, including approaches that address change in social norms, structures, and individual behaviors that go beyond messaging to catalyze community action; 
Strong understanding of local cultural practices, social networks, and gender and age dynamics strongly preferred; 
Knowledge of agricultural, livelihood, and/or food security programming is preferred; 
Experience with international donor projects required, experience with USAID and Food for Peace preferred; 
Strong oral and written English skills required, knowledge of local languages preferred.
