General Description of the Role Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for keeping all stores clean, orderly and accessible always and to ensure the security of all items in the stores during working hours and updating warehouse tools on a regular basis. Summary of Key Duties Always Ensure physical stock in the stores tally with book balances; Organize the loading, unloading and stocking of all stores when stock arrives or is to be taken out; Make sure that all stock is in its correct position with directives from the Logistics Supervisor; Ensure, through instructions from the Senior Logistics Officer that all stock is accounted for at any given time; Ensure that all stock in the stores is accessible at all times; Ensure all stock is in its correct positions and easily accessible; Updating of stock cards and SMS on a daily basis; share the updated SMS with the Logistics Supervisor; Ensuring that all stores paperwork is completely properly; Internal Requisition Forms, Delivery Dockets, Goods in Docket/Goods Receipt Notes, Packing Lists and any other documentation according to GOAL Stores Section; Completion of the Goods in Docket/Goods Receipt Notes on reception of items from suppliers/DIKs with coordination with the Logistics Supervisor and procurement staff; Daily monitoring of stock organization; Ensure the correct amount of stock leaves the stores as authorized and physically verify all stocks received and dispatched; Immediate reporting of all missing stock or any observed discrepancies; Always check on expiry dates of stocks and using the FIFO procedure to minimize losses through unobserved expiries; Ensure that all stocks are secure and stock levels are per their level on the appropriate bin-card/SMS/Stock cards and other warehousing documentation.
The ideal person should possess the following Diploma/Certificate in Logistics or stores management; 2 years’ experience working with an I/NGO in stores/warehousing management; Knowledge of both spoken and written English; Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Physical ability to aid in the correct loading and unloading of materials on/from vehicles; Ability to interact with supervisors and co-workers; Attention to detail is imperative; A strong work ethic with a desire to learn.
